This is the 1/72 scale kit from italeri. Quite cheap at £6 but not that easy to asemble (well, assemble without big gaps and overhangs).
This is only my third helicopter (if you count Bond’s Little Nellie).
No prizes as to what I made the base from[:D]
Ah, don’t tell me! You made the base from a 45 of “Eye of the Tiger” from Rocky? LOL Nice Job, Chris !! I hope my Peruvian Hind for the Attack Helo GB turns out that well!! - Calvin
Man that looks sweet! I have Aztec Peruvian FA markings for this exact Hind.
With my Apache and my two scale MiGs yet to be started, I probably wont have time for this one until late in the summer.
Nice build.

I can’t remember exactly, it was probably one of those AOL discs that come through the door every other day.
Always good to see a Hind!
Thanks for sharing!
Rats! just noticed Helicopters has it’s own forum.
Please could this be moved?
I didn’t know there was a Hind GB going on. Is anyone using the Zotz Latin American Hinds sheet? It’s beautiful, colorful, two sheets, and includes Sandinista, Cuban and Peruvian machines, the one from Peru being the Hind that was shot down in the brief little war with Eduador in 1995. The painting instructions are especially good on all the Zotz/Albatross sheets, and they are well worth the money. The Latin marking of theirs is among their least expensive offerings. I’m planning to make my first helicopter a Hind using these markings.

faraway, I would worry about posting here in the aircraft forum. We wingy thingy builders enjoy looking at the Bastered Stepchildren of aviation as well
nice job on the hind by the way
I could be really nasty and say -
HEY YOU - get yer Hind outta here !
But I really don’t mind it at all - very nice build - as far as I’m concerned - your Hind is welcome here. Now get off it and make a wingy thing ![:)]
Chris
Boy, what was I thinking! LOL [:D] I guess I need to get into the 21st Century !! [:p]
Whenever a Hind gets shot down, God sheds a tear… especially a Peruvian Hind. [:(]
Dear Peruytu, welcome to the site, homie. You slipped in under the radar. I spent several of my years as a reporter in Latin America, and many of those Central and South American countries have some of the most colorful and interesting machines you’ll find. (Though you must get permission to get close, as I learned when I almost got shot in Honduras, poking around a P-47 and a Corsair that were gate guards at the Tegucigalpa AFB, and were veterans of the 1969 “Soccer War.”)
Unlike most other decal makers, Zotz/Albatross is headquartered in Mexico City, and releases many decals for Latin American aircraft.

Faraway,
Nice Mi-24. The Hind is one of the ugliest floppy winged things to ever stagger into the air. It is even uglier than an Apache and that is really saying something. Both aircraft are devastatingly effective as killing machines. War and killing are ugly, so I guess the machines built to do that can be ugly too.
