Hi all, any of you have an idea where I can buy some one piece rubber tracks for the Dragon 1/35 M4A4? I just finished the model and was going to get started on the tracks (way to much for my patience) and I do like a challenge but I want to get this done to donate to a local VFW post. Looks like this model has an extra long chassis. Don’t know if any of you have this model on hand to take a look at but it is one with a 60 rocket on the turret. AFV has some tracks but I have those for the M4 and they are not long enough. Sure hope I didn’t screw up the wheels any cause they fit right in place. Thanks for any help and have a great one.
I’ve searched with no luck. I thought Dragon came out with some.
AFV Club makes two sets, the steel cleat type and the Brit Steel chevron type.
Thanks for the info, guess I’ll start getting the ones that came with the model on the building block, lots of cleats and stuff. Guess I could also splice a couple of the ones I have now. Thanks again for the info.
I would do a quick search regarding the AFV M4A4 vinyl tracks and the older Dragon M4A4. I seem to recall there being talk about the tracks being too short for the Dragon kit when the tracks first came out.
Edit: OK, dug up an old ML post and it appears the AFV Club one piece vinyl and the individual link sets made especially for the long hulled M4A4 come up a little short (one inch) for the kit they are designed for. Makes you wonder.
Hey Rob, thanks for the info. I had an extra pair of vinyl tracks and I cut about 1 inch (seven tracks) and spliced them to the ones I already had and they fit real good. Just have to dirty them up and they look just like they are part of the original track. I guess I had an old Dragon kit , got it on eBay for a good price. All seems working good now, If you are still in the military, Thanks for serving. Retired USN here. Take care .
