rubber tires

Just getting back in to the hobby after being out about thirty years.I use to use Testors hot rod gray to paint rubber tires. I have not been able to find it anywhere. What is everyone useing now days Thanks

In most case, nearly any dark gray will do. Testors had a color called “Rubber,” maybe the still do–but it was sort of brownish.

I use normal Tamiya black then dry brushed with grey. I think some people use their NATO Black, which is apparently a dark grey, but i have not tried it.

Welcome aboard, i’m sure you will love it here and find plenty of help getting back into the swing of things.

I use the Testors’ Rubber. It does have that dirty-tire look to it.

Welcome aboard. I usually use Model Masters acrylic with a small amount of gray. Usually turns out pretty decent.

Greetings and welcome to the forums!

Vallejo have a few “Rubber” colors in their model color line. Haven’t tried them myself, so i can’t speak on how they look. :frowning: just another option
