Rolls-Royce Gnome

Can anyone out there tell me if anyone has made a resin,white-metal,etc Rolls-Royce Gnome engine in 1/72 and 1/48? I need them for my RAN Westland Sea Kings.

I’ve not heard of one, or the GE T58 either (the Gnome is a license-built T58). But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t…

Good luck.

you could take one from an airfix seasprite kit, it has 2 in the box, of cource it ruins the seasprite kit, no starter and no exhaust. But you do what ya gotta do.

or copy one! or have someone copy on ( for free of cource other wise you violate copy right laws…)
Either way good luck

Not to be too anal, but the later Seasprite had two GE T700 engines, not T58s…

Actually, the last generation of the Sea Sprite, the SH-2G, had the T700’s. The SH-2F, as kitted by Airfix had the T58’s. So, copying the Airfix kit engines would be acceptable. I believe Engines and Things did a resin T58, but I am not 100% sure.

Thanks for the answers, guys.Engines & Things don’t do a resin T58 and I haven’t been able to find a Airfix Seasprite for quite some time.Which leads me to my next request:Does anyone out there have a Seasprite T58 they are willing to part with or mold in trade for something I might have that interests them?

I stand corrected by RotorheadTX - and not only did I forget the T58 version, I would have bet that the 1/72 Airfix SH-2F kit didn’t have engines. Send me a snail mail address by email and I’ll send you the two 1/72 scale T58s from an Airfix kit that’s going to be converted back to the HU2K address anyway…

Tailspinturtle,you got mail!

Howzat!
Scratchbuilding mode - engaged?
