Roden's T28B

I’m starting the build on a Roden T28B. I was inspired to make one after a visit to an airforce base with one of them welcoming everybody near the main gate. I read a not-so-good review about the True Details cockpit set. Is it really bad? What about the kit is is any better than the Monogram?

Well the kit itself is supposed to be several generations ahead of the old Monogram kit. As such it includes things like wheel wells, an engine separate from the cowl front, a proper cockpit, etc. All of those need to be added to the Monogram kit either by scratch or aftermarket. The Monogram T-28 is roughly the same vintage as their SBD and as such it has many operating features like retractable landing gear at the expense of the things that I mentioned above…[;)]

Everything about it is better than the Monogram kit. Details are non-existant on the Monogram kit. One of the main points where the Roden kit is better is the scale. The Roden kit is actually 1/48, the Monogram is closer to 1/50.

i read a couple of reviews on the resin pit and didn’t see any negative points. it does look beautiful though. maybe it has fit issues?

I got this reaction from Modelling Madness.
