Here’s my recently completed 1:48 scale Roden Junkers D.1. A good kit overall. About the only real complaint I had is that the decals are absolute junk. I never encountered decals that would not be affected by full strength SolvaSet. And they were brittle, too. I substituted where I could with some leftover Eagle Strike insignias I had in the drawer. Very nice, I’ve had my eye on the smaller scale version for awhile now. I’ll definately have to pick one up next time.
Love the German WW1 camo, who would have though of mauve as a camo color.

That’s cool. I don’t know much a bout WW I planes, but I don’t recall many monoplanes. This looks early war? Catchy color scheme. Nicely done.
You would think, since the other notable monoplanes were from the early period. The Junkers was actually a late war development and from what I have read would have been quite a shock if it had been available in larger numbers.
I’ve read there was something of a biplane mafia that squashed monoplane design for decades. The P-26 Peashooter was the first monoplane adopted in quantity after WW1, and it didn’t show up until 1933-34, nearly 20 years after the Fokker monoplanes dominated the sky in 1915.

That is a beautiful model! My one and only WWI plane is an old Testor’s Nieuport 17 and I know the planes from that era can be a challenge. Your plane is outstanding and inspiring too! Thanks for sharing her with us.
