Just a quick note- I was finishing up my OV-1 Mohawk and realized my wingtip lenses were missing. They WERE there, but that funny little goblin that we ALL know, that steals parts from your workbench and runs off to goblin land, apparently needed the lenses more than I did. [oX)]
I contacted Roden support via their website and inquired about purchasing replacements, and got a very courteous and fast response. It was broken english but basically said that they would “happily send replacement part” once I sent them my address. NO CHARGE! So I replied, but didn’t hear anything back. About 6 weeks later, I was pleasantly surprised by a package in the mail containing the entire clear parts tree and a very nice postcard with a hand written thank you note. Everything had been paid for, stamps all over the package …
Needless to say, they won a customer for life! Thanks Roden! NOW I can finish my Mohawk!
I had a similar thing with them. I didnt have any decals with a kit i bought. I gave them an email, and like you said, they replied straight away in broken English and within a couple of 3 weeks, there were new ones sent in the post.
ironpumper, I appreciate seeing your comments. Customer service ranks very highly in my decisions to purchase modeling equipment and models. When a WWI kick hits me, I will give Roden a look.
Thank you for posting this- great to hear about people getting it “right.” I shall seriously consider Roden next time I am shopping for a WWI kit based upon this. [tup]
That´s great!!! I have built the same kit (an OV-1D) and lost two of the landing gear doors during construction.
I will write to them and see if I can get replacement parts.
Thanks for sharing!
best regards
Jeremias
PS: a few months ago I try to get replacement parts for a broken canopy (it came that way on the box) from Tamiya and they didin´t even botter in aswer my email, and the local dealer write me telling me that he will get the parts, almost two months latter I write back asking if I got the parts, and whem I aswered that I haven´t heard anything from Tamiya… almost half year latter I haven´t got anything from them, not even an email… [soapbox] Tamiya…
Unfortunately they packed all the sprues in one plastic bag inside the box, so the chassis is pretty bent and other parts are damaged as well.
I wrote to them about it, they came back to me within a few days. They told me they would send me the replacement sprues by post, like in your case, they only asked for the address to where they need to send it.
This was 6 weeks ago. I sent them 2 replies, to ask about the status of the whole thing, or if it’s posted or not.
I was/am in contact with Yulia Kravchenko, on the email address roden@roden.eu.
