Anybody out there knows where I could find pictures (or drawings) of the starboard (right) side of the RMS Olympic (i.e. the Titanic sister-ship) sporting her dazzle scheme, at the time she was used as troop transport during WW1, and sank that German sub…?

I’ve got lots of pics showing the port side, and another shot showing a little of the starboard side from the bow, but not enough to define the whole cammouflage…

2 places you could try:
Cunard Line archives (try searching their web site and Email whomever is their contact regarding an archive).
National Maritime museum at Greenwich, UK. They have a very good web site and have been most helpful to me whenever I’ve needed them for research.

On my site, www.modelwarships.com, in the feature article section, is an article by Martin Quinn entitled ‘Dazzle and Drab - Ocean Liners at War’. It has a large scale model of Olympic’s starboard side in dazzle.

Did you ever finish this project? I would be interested in seeing pictures. I’m currently looking for the same information for the Mauritania. I was able to talk to the Chairman of the Cunard Line Historical Socity and he told me about this book “Liners In Battledress/, by
David Williams (1989).” I ordered it this week.

I’d really love to see your pictures.
