Just wanted to post these and let you all see how the scribe on my F-106 is going. This is the upper fusalage. It’s not quite finished as I still need to go over lines on the front section again and sand it. Aft section is done. This is a total 100% free hand scribe. I used no guide other than the raised panel lines.
While your scribing appears to be flawless, wouldn’t it make more sense to rescribe the completed assembly? It seams (pardon the pun) to me when you join the upper and lower, you will destroy some hard work on that fuse, this old kit needs filler!
Thanks for the compliment Steve. The way I am scribing this Dart I will only need to rescribe at the seams. I am using a jewelers file scribing technique which works pretty darn good. Scribed an RM 1/48 F/A-18C this way and got great results.
Bud, Thanks for the kind words. I do believe you CAN do it. All you need is a Jewelers or Opti Visor, scribing tools, and patience enough to work slowly and not rush through it. This is only the second bird I have ever scribed. As you can see practice makes perfect. The way I see it if I can do it almost anyone can.[:D]
