Hi All,

I too, am curious. I have the old trumpeter set and it leaves so much to be desired.
I use this one which is fine, good even, but won’t get into corners unless you specifically order the corner tool extra. The corner tool is a special, non-round version that is specifically designed to get into areas, like where the wing attached to the body of an aircraft, if you watch the video you can see it in use.
I use a tool similar to the one that @Samphoto linked. I haven’t tried to get into tight corners but have seen others use a needle in a handle for an exacto knife.
I have the exact same rivet tool, too. Same model number on my local amazon, different brand, one of those common tool sold by multiple shops I guess. I think it’s either a ripoff or just a rebranding of the galaxy tool ?
I haven’t used it a lot but I think I had the Trumpeter before ( maybe Revell, but if memory serves they are the same in this case ) and it was indeed awful. On the other hand, the one linked by Samphoto got the job well done on my IL2. I do not have the corner tool, I use this instead.
Thanks for the replies everyone. There was one that was made by a person in Czech Republic but he has since passed unfortunately. It seems nothing is as close to his product which was apparently made by hand by him.
Yeah, that was Rosie the Riveter I suppose. Everyone swears by it - everyone that could get one !
Yes! That was the one. I will be looking for a used one hopefully or try some of the others eventually.
