Rick's Huey uh-1b work in progress ( FINISHED)

I’m starting a Revell 1/24 Gunship build for my neighbor . What a great couple they are .

Thank you all for having me .

I have always eyeballed and wondered about this kit… This should be fun to watch.

Need some advice here please .

Tomorrow can I tape off the back and front seat and apply 2nd color ? Red

I also bought this kit recently.

I look forward to viewing your build.[:D][Y]

Welcome, Rick, and kudos on a great job so far. Will be following this one with interest.

If I may offer a tip for future use–assuming you haven’t already encountered it–regarding stripping the chrome from model parts. A spray of Easy Off (or similar oven cleaner) will do in minutes what the Coke took several days to do, with no damage to the plastic parts. A quick rinse (and, occasionally, a little old-toothbrush action for the stubborn bits) and the parts are ready to use.

Have you decided on markings or decals yet?

Thanks all Have you decided on markings or decals yet? No not yet This will be a long build . I hope to have it done by Christmas . This is my first build model . The back seat . Under it there is a box . I think it holds ammo. Is that box dark gray ? Thanks

Most of the morning . I was trying to figure out how to mount the parts and spray . I never work with small parts like this before . I went in the junk box found a alligator clip , I crimped a 12 gauge hard wire to it . Omg perfect . Then I took those green foam blocks from my daughter . I sprayed the parts 2 coats , then pushed the wire into the foam block . Done . I do need gloves . Oops . Learn something . Painted hands

Thanks

Yes, if your are going to be masking, it is best to let painted parts dry overnight. The cans uder the seat are ammo cans for the machine guns- those should be painted Olive Drab.

thanks

Today’s update .Spent almost 2 hours taping .

.

The Gauge panel ,Just the top is painted flat black . The ammo box painted olive drab
