RF-8G Photo Crusader

This is my 1/72 scale RF-8G Photo Crusader.I used Kangnam’s kit and Falcon’s conversion kit.

Great job on the conversion! I would enjoy seeing more pictures of it.

Here are some construction pics I took.

Really nice work. Can you post some more close-ups?

I took some more close up pics but I am having trouble resizing them from imageshack.I can send them to you in an email if you would like.

Oh no , that last pic is way to big . Obviously I’m doing something wrong . It seems to be when I transfer images from my digital camera to my computer , they seem to be too big [1.2mb] . I may need an hour’s tuition on using the kodak software . My apologies . Helo 53

O.K. I tried fixing it,but now it’s too small.[%-)]

It looks beautiful. By the way, how was the kit? I’ve come close to buying it a couple of times but hesitated. Just curious.

Nicely done Helo. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Kangnams kit was reasonable good . It could have been an excellent kit if only they had a better canopy arrangement . After I finished the kit I went and bought Italeri’s version which was twice the price as Kangnams and it’s identical . So when I built Italeri’s I made some little ‘thumbs’ for the back of the canopy . However the nose cone was a fraction to big in diameter so there’s a small discrepancy were it meets the front of the windscreen . Kangnams kit didn’t have that problem . Anyway I cut and dropped the front slats and rear flaps and raised the wing and it looks o.k . I paid $10.00 for Kangnams and $20.00 for Italeri’s , I would have expected Italeri to have had a proper canopy arrangment given the price of the their kit . Anyway I’ve nearly finished a second RF-8G Crusader , I used Hasegawa’s kit this time . I’ve cut and dropped the slats and flaps and glued the outer wings in the folded position with the wing slightly raised this time . I also opened up 2 small boarding steps and a lower step in the fuselage . I finished airbrushing Italeri’s kit so it’s ready for decals , Hasegawa’s RF-8G is also nearly ready for decals , I can post a couple of progress pic’s if you like .

The first pic is the RF-8G Crusader , the second and third are italeri’s F-8E

Sorry about the size of the pic’s . I’m nearly going out of my mind trying to resize them for imageshack to host them ; there either too big? or too small ? , this is driving me nuts {surely it shouldn’t be this difficult][#wstupid]

i couldn’t get the Kodak program to do what i wanted it to do with resizing either, now i use Paint Shop Pro and resize them at 400x400 pixels, much easier

Thank’s lone , I will give it a try .
