Reys Blaster

trying some thing I havent done in a long time. My daughter suprised me with this Blaster from rouge one its very rough but I will give it my best shot

Ohhhh, pretty cool!

Interesting. Is it a 1/1 scale kit?

Rey isn’t in Rogue One, lol.

What materials are those pieces made out of??

its different Gamera. It looks like 1/1 kit Spruce one and ooops its the force awakens its all out of order any way [+o(] M Brindos this stuff looks like a bakelite its very tough stuff need to see what type of primer to use? and oh my ADD I hope I didnt leave any one out?

Bakelight? Movie prop quality stuff there. I think you can polish that stuff?

I’ve worked with it before and its tuff stuff to work but it holds its shape againts rough handling. You’ll have to use different paints, adhesives, primers… screws when possible.

You can really get creative with lighting and finishes. Best finish for any metal parts is powder coating.

You’ve got a lot options here for a truly stunning mantle piece!

Hi,

According to my college chemistry professor, bakelite is the stuff they used to make telephones out of (back when they were still connected to the wall and the property of Bell Telephone), because it could stand up to so much abuse. [:O]

Pat

Looks like that will build up into a nice prop.

Yes I did start priming with gloss black alcald it didn’t Harm the bakalite. Give it plenty of drying time pics to follow.
