Revolutionary War Cannon- Finished

This is from last years club white elephant gift exchange. I had meant to build it, but realized I only had a month left to complete it. If I do, I get a higher drawing number, which is better because we can snipe other earlier drawn kits.

Anyways, I have already started mods. There is no bottom to the main side pieces, supposedly solid wood. I filled the bottom gaps with 1/8 basswood.

That’s sooo cool!

Looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Took a break to cleam shop a bit- still messy but can walk on floor without stumbling on stuff. Carraige is finished after painting and weathering, same with wheels.

Also bronzed the cannon. Primed and sanded to cover lousy brass plating. Then, Alclad copper. Then drybrushed brown and gray. Finally a wash of light green.

Only a few accesories and a base nrrded to finish.

That looks fantastic Missileman! The bronze looks just like the real cannons I’ve seen.

Nice work on that cannon. The bronze looks great.

Finally finished it.

This was last year’s white elephant gift fromTCAH. By finishing it I was in the last group to draw, second from last. I had seen someone draw a kit earlier that caught my eye, so I swiped it and got a nice Meng RR armored car. I intend to finish it before next December so I can draw late again [:)]

Turned out great. I like these old guns. Your bronzing is exponentially better than the plating that was on there. Great colors with the blue carriage. Nice piece.

Yeah that looks great!!! Fantastic job of taking a while elephant gift and turning it into a showpiece!
