Reville F-18 E

Hi, I just bought a reville Germany F-18 E this morning, it is not a bad kit. T he instructions for painting leaves a little to be desired, but overall for 17.00not to bad. any one else have this kit? I have several Hassagawa’s in both scales, so thought I would give this kit a try.

I’m finishing this puppy right now. Just got to seal decals, weather, etc. Some pointers I picked up during the build: there are some nasty seams to work on - when attaching the forward section of the fuselage to the aft section, the intakes (inside and out), also attaching the canopy sections left me with a big gap; the cockpit was fairly nice, decals provided, not great but not bad either; the instructions left a bit to be desired (they probably always do) - make sure you ignore their directions for assembling the JDAMs, look instead for some online pics to see how the ‘fins’ attach, also for the life of me I couldn’t find any pics of the little v-shaped ‘wingy’ thing that attaches to the bottom of the arrestor hook, until of course I had already attached the thing backwards! Also, if you’re going to wait and attach the landing gear/doors until the end of the build, beware that there is a really tight fit for some of the aft doors. I had to pry open the gear wells a little to install them and this left me with a little more damage around the intakes that required filler.

Painting wise, the aircraft can be standard light ghost gray (FS 36375) bottom and dark ghost (FS 36320) top, with a lighter shade of light ghost on both sides of the trailing edges of the flaps. Not a terribly tricky paint scheme, just requires a bit of blue-tac or whatever aft and fore of the wings.

I’ll post pics when I’m done unless it suffers a crushing blow of some sort. Enjoy the kit!

Hi, Thank You for the advice. I had already dry fitted some of the parts and saw that there was a few gaps.I will pay close attention to your reply. Thanks again. Richard
