Revell Sub Type VII Weathering

Okay, I got this thing built and base painted. I am doing some weathering, but it is looking more like this thing has been in dry dock for about 10 years rather than just a well worn sub. I used turpentine and brown and red oil thinned down and let it run on one side. Used brown and red chalks in thinner on the other side. The result was about the same actually, but I don’t want it to look like it has been in drydock. What should I do? This is all practice for me actually.

Look through all the screenshots in the forum for Silent Hunter 3 to get some ideas.

Can you post some pix for us to have a look? Also, very interesting that the 2 techniques yieded similar rsults.

I’m nearly ready to paint mine, am going to practice on a 1:125 hull.

On the other hand, have you tried this site?
