revell of germany make sa kit oif the su-27b in 1/72. anyone know how it is? thanks, Tank.
If this is the kit I’m thinking of, it’s basically the Hasegawa kit re-boxed, minus the metal and PE. I’ve always loved this kit even though it’s not the perfect rendering of the Flanker. It’s a little wide between the tail fins. Other than that, it had great fit , crisp detail and the best part is the upper fuselage molded together with the upper wing halves.
ok. for ten dollars it seems like a good deal. I might just buy it!
If the kit is only $10, it’s most likely not the re-box of the Hasegawa kit but may be Revell’s version of Italeri’s kit. I’d check this one real hard if I were you because Italeri’s kit was not a good replica. As a kit it was fine with fairly good fit but there were issues with the intake trunks being too shallow, raised panel lines, etc. However, with a little work, a pleasing shelf model results.
hmmm… maybe i’ll just buy the academy 1/48 version then. I built one already, and it was pretty darn good. even had some PE parts.
