Revell NorthSea Trawler Completed

What a fun and beautiful ship to build ! It must

be dated I am surprised it is not built more often

on here. Fit was great, a little on the flash side but

no to bad. Testors MMA paint and Tamiya ET glue

for the materials and a BD-130 airbrush. Thanks

for taking a look.

Nicely built.

It sure looks too clean!

Thanks G ! lol the “clean” ship was only on sea trails then

put on display haha

Dash

A real nice job, I like it.

Ive built this and have one in the stash I hope to convert to a Japanese coastal merchant and use in a B-25 strafing attack Dio…scales close enough to 72nd…I agree thats its an under appreciated gem, and getting hard to find…nicely done…

Very nice!

Cool Revevant ! thanks everyone for the comments !

It’s a nice kit that lends itself to a lot of kitbashing ideas. I have a wecked one in the spare parts box that I might get to restoring someday.

Spotted this picture of a Dutch trawler out of Limuiden, Netherlands on shipspotting.com. I wonder if this vessel performs the same function as the completed model, as the drag nets appear different than the usual nets employed on this type of ship.
Inquiring minds want to know.

Happy modeling Crackers [:)]

I wonder if that’s a shellfish trawler? It clearly seems to have two distinct trawl nets with some sort of frame on the open end. It definitely does not look like the shrim tralwwers I’m familiar with on Texas’ Gulf Coast. The hailibut and cod trawls usually are put over on either one side or the other–those are more typically held open with otters rather than a spreader bar, if memory serves.

I think it’s a crab boat…

Cool crab boat, lots of rigging if that

was a model.

I went with Revell colors on this one, they look

nice for the time era.
