I was reading in another modeling magazine ( a U.K. one) about some Revell-Monogram kits being re-released…The BIG 1/72 RB/B-36, 1/48 AC-47, and the 1/48 PBY-5 Catalina, all of which I want to buy when/if they come out. Have you guys heard anything about these?
I saw each of those listed in the future releases section of the most recent catalog I got from Hobbyland.
The only one I have heard any details about is the PBY. A source of mine said it was due out in June of this year.
Tower Hobbies shows the AC-47 due out in early May, the PBY as “order pending”, and no mention of the B-36.
Well the visible B17 is back out now. I hope they bring out the B24s. I’d like to have a couple of them but I don’t want to pay the high prices they are going for on Ebay
I’d kinda like to have the Phantom Huey that was released in the late 60s.
Well, at least we know the PBY and AC-47 are coming, and hopefully the B-36. I just saw the visible B-17 on Squadron yesterday…
From what I heard the pby is due out this year sometime, the others I’m not sure of.
Revell of Germany re released the B-36 a couple years ago. I would sort of doubr Rev-Mono would do so again. But, you never know.

I had a close look at the box for the Visible B-17 today at MAL Hobbies. They worked pretty hard to take a good photo but you can still see lots of imperfections in the clear moldings. I forget who suggested I stick with doing my cutaway port fuselage instead of using the clear fuselage but from what I saw in the photo that’s what I’m going to do.
