Smokin - great job on the sub thats one big boat.

Wow nice job on that sub…

My 240z is still hardly started… I think al my builds mite get put on hold, searching for a new place to live…

James

Great job 'guns! That is truly a well-done sub! Thank you for building that and showing us what an incredible modeler you are!

I got a little more work done on the wright Flyer, most if it is detail painting before assembly. I did do some building on it; the engine, the hip cradle, and some other minor work. I’ll post pics later when I get more done.

As promised, here is some pics of my progress on the Eagle. I should be starting assembly after i wash the office. THe camera isn’t the best, but you can see it ok. Let me know what ya’ll think

Thank you all. and lookin good guys keepup the good work.

hey gangs

just got back from Illinois. No bad roads or weather whew.

Smokinguns3~ AWESOME JOB!! outstanding on the Gato Class submarine.

Now time for me to hit a sack. will update you w my work.

I just finished my second 1/48 Monogram F-84F Thunderstreak. This one has the markings of the 122 Fighter Interceptor Wing, 163 Fighter Interceptor Squadron, The Blacksnakes based at Ft Wayne, Indiana. The decals are by Aeromaster and the paint is Model Master Aluminum Plate.

[:O]!

great progs every1. yardbird78, wow!! amazing little birdies. hope to see more

I haven’t been around the bench lately… to many applications… must… sleep…

Finally started getting my pit together after about a week or two of painting and detailing, my B-17 is starting to come together. Ill post some pics tomorrow

Yardbird that is a great looking F - 84, the nmf is really smooth looking. Smokinguns - nice job on the sub, well done, I guess I need to get going on my stuff.

Cheers [#toast],

Eric

Yardbird, exellent work on those two models! I love the smooth finish on the NMF. I’ll have to get going more on my Wright Flyer.

Meanwhile, I did manage to get done with another Monogram kit that I started for this Group Build too. I got it at Orangecon a couple years back. This was painted with the Tamiya Navy Blue spray can.

This was sealed with a coat of Future for a glossy shine, as well as to help hold the decals down. The old decals on this kit were a bear to try and apply; they kept curling up. I had to pull out the Big Guns (Solvaset) to get them to lay down and stay down. This was an old Monogram kit that I got for three bucks at Orangecon but it was great fun to build despite the decals. I hope you like it. Comments are welcome.

Duke,

Nice work on the 'Cat. I built one of those a bunch of years ago and now use it for a paint test be. It looks like a rainbow.

as promised here is my progress so far on my B-17, cockpit is almost done just need a little bit of touch up work, seems to be going well

This is just to let you know that I am still alive. Barely. I finished my wife’s cabinet, then was attacked by the flu bug. I am at work right now, but I plan on getting to my sub tonight.

Smokinguns, that is a wicked build![tup] Hopefully I will be finished soon.

Jay, no, I am not in Calgary, but I work for the mentioned company, and may be helping in the set up of the new store that is going up.

Thanks Darwin! I’m glad you like it. It was a fast easy build, considering it’s age. The only real problems I had were the decals.

Thanks again for the compliment.

VERY nice work on the B-17 cockpit. That is going to be a museum piece when you get it finished.

Darwin

WOW, that bomber “box office” looks like you hit the real thing with a shrink ray. Keep up the excellent work.

Thanks everybody, im having great fun with it. It was taking me forever to paint the bulkheads and other small details at first, I was masking everything, because I am renown for shaky hands. but finally I just broke out the really fine brush and freehanded everything and it acctually turned out better, probably because of the extra care taken knowing you dont have the mask to fall back on. I just hope I dont murder all this detail with a shoddy job on the outside of the plane, Im gonna do a NMF so any tips would be appreaciated. Thanks again, I know im at least headed in the right direction if im getting positive feedback on here

Outstanding job on the cockpit of B17 [:D], Is it from B17G? Since I have Revell Monogram of the Memphis Belle in 1/48 scale. Its been sitting on the table for a long time and havent get start on it. [#oops]

As for right now, My P40 Flying Tiger is almost done. the cockpit and fuselage is all set now. All i need to get some cans of compressor so i can get start on airbrushing the camo colors. After im done w P40, for sure will get some pictures and show to ya all.

Quick update since I have not posted any progress lately. Things suck right now, after my car being stolen I am now searching for a new apt. since the place I am in now is no longer availible to rent. I will prolly be away for a few weeks while I seartch for a new place… Good news is when I do find a place it will be my own, and will finally be able to paint indoors! So yea, I am posting this in the three GB’s I am involved in hopefully it gets resolved quickly. In the meantime I will be packing all my tools and kits etc etc so nothing will get done. Hopefully it doesnt take any longer than a month.
