Recently I was able to get 2 1/32 scale Revell Models, A Me-262 "Swallow and a Hawker Typoon MK-1B. The boxes is the early 60’s design the art work in really beautifully done. The kits have english writing on the box top and sides but Japanese on the ends. The instruction are in Japanese completely, the drawings for he instructions are better than the American versions of the kits. And each of the kits have beautiful litho of the camo pattens, that real easy to follow.
Anybody have any knowledge on these? I looked in the history book of Revell and could not find anything. I’ll probally put them on Ebay, but would like to learn something on them first.
I don’t know much on those two, but I did have the Revell Japan issue of the P-51B Shangri La in 1/32 scale. I do recall the color artwork and Japanese instructions. I also remember that the decals were nicer than the U.S. ones. They even got the colors right on the noseart - which had been printed wrong on the U.S. editions. The box art was even just a bit different and somewhat more colorful as well.
I put mine up on ebay & it did very well - I think that the Japan issues are a bit rarer and are (or were at the time I sold mine anyway) more desirable .

Sorry it took so long to respond, I kinda lost track of this post for a couple of days.
I’m in Berwick, across the Atchafalaya River from Morgan City - just 18 miles or so from the Gulf, just about as south as you can get & not get wet.
I googled your location and I have a few friends & business associates that live around your neck of the woods - Hammond, Springfield & Bogalusa.
My son lives in Baton Rouge, maybe a bit later on we could try to get together and catch a bit to eat & chat a bit. My wife is chompin at the bit to bet to Baton Rouge as often as possible to see our new grand-daughter.

Nope, y’all didn’t miss a “For Sale” section… There isn’t one… FSM doesn’t allow selling in the forums, and only allows it on the site if you buy ad space…

Love to get together in BR, gives me another chance to see the USS KIDD and nautical museum. If you like sushi I found a place about 3 blocks away from the ship called “Tsunami”, the rest. overlooks the river, nice view. avg. meal runs about $20 or so. also they have the casino buffet not bad, but it the same food you get at all the others.
I listed the models on eBay and they seem to have went for a pretty penny, they got to be on the rare side.
I attend the Wooden Boat Fest, every year. They also work with “Cruisin’ on the Lake” car show, which I’ve put my 1960 GMC in. Next year will be the first year the truck will be in after the full off-frame OEM restoration. Truck is getting painted now and it will take me about 3 months to reassemble. SO I’ll be trying to cruise come January 2011.
