Revell Germany's Pzh 2000 in 1/35

Hi,

Has anybody experience with the Pzh 2000 in 1/35 from Revell Germany. I am thinking about buying this kit, but since I always had bad experiences with Revell in general I am not sure if I should try it one more time. I never had any Revell kit where I was satisfied with. Either they didn’t have enough or rough detail or the fit was just plain miserable or there was so much to clean up. I think right now I wouldn’t buy Revell, even if they were the last plastic kit manufacturer on earth.

Let me hear what you guys and gals think.

Joe

Do not worry at all. Revell Germany AFVs are fantastic… That Pzh 2000 is supposedly one of their best too!

Go for it! Now.

I have one in 1/35 and another in 1/72, both by Revell. I haven’t built it yet, I just snagged it when Model Expo had the 1/35 scale kit on sale for about $15. The one I have comes with the largest aluminum barrel I have ever seen in 1/35 scale. The dang thing is huge! The plastic barrel that comes with the kit doesn’t look bad, but the aluminum one will save a lot of work on the long barrel seams. I picked up the Eduard PE set for mine, but I don’t know if it is really required.

I bought mine when there was talk in the air about replacing the cancelled Crusader with the PzHbtz2000. Of course that plan never came to fruition, but I still think it could be a neat “what if”.

Have also heard from some of my Club members that the Kit does need some effort to correct and just to put it together. Depends on how accurate or fussy you want to be.

Joe, It looks like a fun model to build. I hope you get it and please post some pictures if you do.

I just put it on my X-Mas wishlist. I have a pretty good chance on getting it, too. If I ever get it done and get my camera fixed too I will show some pix.
