Unfortunatly just today I lost the spinner cap of Revell Germany’s 1/72 Ju 290, and I kind of need a replacement. My problem- I need to know all the information, i.e., where to send my request, what to put down; you know, the basics. Anyone who knows what to do, or has done it before, any help would be appreciated.
(I know this topic was posted before, but I forget what was said in it. So it you can bear with me, I thank you.)
You’ll have to send your request to Revell Germany at the address listed on your kit. There’s usually a form in the kit as well for making these requests. You’ll also need the kit number, the part number and the reason for the request and you’ll either have to send some money or some International Reply Coupons. Also, you should enclose the UPC bar code from the box. That’s usually it. I don’t know for sure if you can make these requests online or not.
I recently goofed up a canopy on a Revell-Mongram F14 and found there web site and all you have to do is list the model plans number and item number and send $3.00 for S/H and you can order up to 10 parts. I guess Revell Germany doesnt have the same procedure
Might be easier just to make a resin or crash-mould copy from one of your remaning spinner caps. I’ve only had to deal with the Revell spare parts service once before, and in the end, got fed up waiting and scratch-built the missing part.
Go to their web site … http://www.revell.de/en/index.html … click “contact” and write them an email. Provide kit number and part number along with your mailing address. I had to do this once last year for a part and had a replacement (N/C) in about 2 weeks.
Chris is right though, for this simple piece a plunge mold copy would probably suffice. Take a look at my J7W2 build and see how I did that using a wooden master. You could do the same just use one of the other spinner covers as your master.
