Revell Germany Bv 222- Done! (For now)

Well, this sucker is! I’ve begun work on Revell Germany’s 1/72 Bv 222 ‘Wiking’ (German for Viking). You got a glimpse of the outside in my previous post (“A couple of Flying Boats”), so now it’s time for a few shots of the interior.

Now remember, the only scratchbuilding I’ve done is replacing the ammo feeds for the beam guns. The kit parts, while detailed, were totally unuseable. Apart from that, this is ALL out of box.

The only thing I have left to do is some touchup paint on the other fuselage half, and then I can get this sucker closed up. Anyhoo, thanks for checking this out! (It feels good getting back to the big stuff!)

Looking good Lucien, I take it you highly reccomend this kit?

WOW ! She’s looking Sweet, Keep it up

Bud

Nice. You must have a retired blimp hangar to store your models in.

Ok, we finally have a few more pictures of progress. Since the last post I’ve closed up the fuselage, began the engines, and installed the wing turrets. I also have the wings buttoned up also, but that was after these photos were taken.

These photos were also taken rather hastiliy, in the terrible lighting of my basement. That means the quality isn’t top notch, but it’s enough to see what’s going on.

OK, enough yakin’. Time for photos!

Next up are the engines. Pictures will be forthcoming!

Thanks for checking!

Great work Lucien (as always) When it comes to multi-engined aircraft- you de man ! You’ve inspired me to make a start on my ME-323.

Looks real nice. And don’t be so critical of the basment lighting… that’s not bad either.

Thanks, everybody. I’m glad I can be inspiration to somebody. Good luck, by the way Wirraway, with your Me 323. I’ve wanted a kit of that aircraft for a while. Just keep at it, take it one step at a time, and most importantly, keep us updated (with LOTS of pictures)!

Anyway, back to the Bv 222. I got a day off from school and work today, and was able to get the engines installed. Enjoy!

When it comes to Revell Germany kits, I think the engines are my favorite part. They are almost insanely detailed, they are easy to piant, and very easy to install. Now I just need to figure out how many engines I’m going to open up!

As always, thanks for looking.

WOW she’s looking Sweet, can’t wait to see more of her… your model that is

Bud

Lucien,

Nice work, lookin’ fantastic, as your work always does! Can’t wait to see this bird all done! Thanks for sharing!

Nice work guys,
but 1 question, what are the darker-grey circles in the wing behind engines 1& 6?
thanks in advance
Jon

20mm gun turrets, lol. Big bird.

Well, I’m as done as I’m going to be, for a while anyway. I’ve pretty much gotten to the point where there’s not much I can do without painting (something I can’t do because of weather). So here it is, my last update for a while.

The wings are glued on, as are the main engine cowlings. I’m still deciding which engines I want exposed, so the side panels aren’t on yet.

Now that this is done for the time being, I can get back to work on the docking tolley! Stay tuned!

(Oh, and yes, those circles on the wings are gun turrets. Pretty cool, huh? [:D])

I’ll tell you one thing, when this is all done and painted it’s going to look GREAT !

Bud

Yupper… that’s gonna be pretty nice with some paint on it. The paint has a great base[;)]
