Hi
I am only an occasional armor builder (usually figures) but I am starting a project where i would like to incorporate two verlinden figures from desert storm in chem suits and the Revell Fuchs NBC version, but what I was wondering is if this vehicle was used in Desert storm and if there are any references or pictures and what about vehicle markings. Are there any aftermarket decals sets that could be used?
Thanks in advance for any info.
Rob
i found this site
http://www.nationaldefensemagazine.org/article.cfm?Id=786
it says that germany donated some to the US for the gulf war, who renamed them the fox
i also found another site that showed how they test the ground without getting out of the vehicle.[:0]
if you google it you might get some good results
Good information t3488g. I learned a bit about something that I knew nothing about.
I built the RoG “Fuchs” and while it is a good kit it doeshave some drawbacks. It is molded in soft plastic that comes off in strands rather than dust when you sand it. Some of the detail is soft and not very good. I recommend getting the eduard p/e set for this kit. I think resin wheels are available and while the kit decals are very good (for German vehicles) I don’t think a set of aftermarket decals are available specifically for the U.S. version. You will probably have to scrounge markings from other decal sheets.
I’ve only seen a few pictures, so reference material might be difficult to find.
Rob,
i have a book by concord with a singel shot of US Army fox in desert storm. good news is the US markings could be free handed or easily replicated with an airbrush. If your that interested i’ll scan it in and send to you in a couple o days…
