I picked up Revell’s new FORD EXPEDITION POLICE SSV kit last night. Here’s a quick run down on what’s in the kit:
same kit from 1997, with different chrome wheels
new chrome grill w/molded in grill lights
lightbar is from the 2004 Chevy Impala cruiser kit [:(]
new sprue containing: 2 gear bags, 2 prisoner partitions, pushbar w/siren speaker(?), (mediocre) laptop, and camera (or radar?)
smoked rear windows and clear windshield
sprues molded in black
I am not sure whether to build this as a police (Columbus PD Zone Lt) unit or an EMS (Circleville or Minerva Park?) response vehicle.
I managed to get the interior started:
interior was basecoated with Tamiya Field Blue and then hit with ACRYL gloss coat
afterwards, the floor was painted with PS Grimy black
What scale is this?
What different decals does it come with?
Never seen this one before so looking forward to watching your progress.
Chris: The Expedition is in 1:25 scale. The “decals” are the usual SnapTite stickers- if you get the kit, toss them and get some after-market decals or print your own.
Here’s the box art

Just picked up this kit a few weeks ago. Look forward to seeing your build! Thanks, in advance, for sharing your build.
Here’s a couple of shots of the dash after I filled in the gaping trench [:^)]
I glued the radar part on and, once dry, I cut the radar off, sanded and then puttied the gaps.

Awesome Ford here. Great paint
so, the box art doesn’t look like any of the decals. fail.
Orange: actually they do. I got that “proposed” box art off the inter-webs! [:S] Here’s what the issue box looks like:
My apooigies for the confusion.
ok, the full-side decal may have been too big/unwieldy. any more progress?
I’ve installed the front seats, forward prisoner barrier and the rear seat.
I need to detail paint the rear partition and the dashboard before moving on.
Sorry for the delay…
