Revell F-105D Thundercheif

I just bought the Revell Thundercheif and was wondering whether or not any one has any tips concerning this model. I’m not very experienced, however I have made by share of models, and know the basics. I will not be using an airbrush for this model. Simple spray paint with brushed in camo. Any tips, suggestions, advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

It is a good kit. I have one built and one waiting. The only thing that I found you had to be very careful with is the main gear. They are a little weak. I ended up inserting a section of metal rod to give them more strength. I went through the top of the wing into to the strut. The are much sturdier now.

I just finished this kit. Good kit even though it’s up there in years. The fit is not perfect and you’ll probably loose some panel lines cleaning it up.

I second the weak landing gear comment. I did mine in-flight mode with the gear up, that was a lot of work but will pay off in the long run not having to worry about broken gear. I put an acrylic rod up it’s butt and it is now displayed in flight. I’d show you a pic if I could figure out how to attatch it here.

I motion for all landing gear to be made out of die-cast metal as I broke the legs on my Monogram-Revel F-15E today![V]

Well noted^ Will watch out for the landing gear.

As for the F-15E, tis a lovely craft. Sorry to hear about your mishap. Hope it all turns out well.
