Another Dave Deal Design kit. Nice kit, well moulded, fits together well. I need to get more experience in painting tyre logo’s, as I much prefer decals.

Great job, Pat, on another old favorite that I (gulp!) remember from its original release.
Were these rereleased at some point, or is this a super-rare auction-site acquisition?
When I was a little kid, I thought this was pronounced Ba-Ja and not Ba-Ha. It was my little Ba-Ja humbug.
That looks like it was a fun build! Nice job, I like the added engine details.
That’s cool!
A tip of my hat to you on the tire-lettering paint job. I’d have been too intimidated to try it.
Great build Pat! Those old kits are fun to build.

Stay Safe.
Thanks guys. There’s also some very small logo’s on the front tyres, I tried them two or three times and made a right lash up so luckily I have some matt black acrylic brush on so sorted that!
Yes it is a re-issue thank god, in 2010 if the box and instructions were re-printed at the same time.
Yes the Dave Deal style kits are great fun!
Yes adding the spark plug leads was difficult as I’ve got all of my normal stuff packed away waiting to move. But I found an old phone/pc charger cable in the garage from way back when so stripped it out and found just enough for the leads.
LOL.LOL.YUK!YUK!LOL.
I always react that way when I see a " Rat Fink" or “Dave Deal” kit built! This one always gets me going ,as I used to own a real VW bug anyway and I got used to the ribbing. Clipped fenders, No runningboards.
16"Tyres in the back and 14" up front and a snorkel because of the levee roads I used to take it on! Looked a lot like this one. I had one of the originals on my desk at the plant!
My real bug even sported the Megaphone exhaust on the beast! If you can call 40 H.P. beastly. Fun to drive though!
I sure enjoy seeing your off beat car models. Very cool!
Ohh that looks fun. Great job on this little bug, lots of nice additions and painting!
Thanks guys yes we had three beetles and our youngest son two, this is one of his…

Yes I love ‘oddballs’!
Very cool. I remember these goofy kits from when I was a kid. The ones I remember the most were called “Zingers”. Thanks for bringing back those memories.

Revell’s line of these were Deal’s Wheels. MPC’s line was the Zingers. Hawk did the Weird-Os, I think Monogram might have been something else. Ed Roth?
Thanks Brandon & Rob.
