Revell 1970 Buick GSX Build completed 3/1/2026

That’s a stunning result. The yellow paintwork is so nice!

And if the warped hood bothers you, just model it with the hood up!

Excellent build!. Great job on the engine detail, and the paint job on the body.

Thank you all for the kind comments and looking in.

Nice!! The yellow is just about the best color for those cars. Although, when I was in college and working at a service station, we had a customer who had one in the dark green color. His dad was a Buick executive, and he got a LOT of experimental engine bits from Buick for his GSX. Particular were Stage 2 heads. He added Hooker headers to it, and couldn’t keep the side-view mirrors on the car!!

Thanks for looking in CrashTestDummy. The 1970 GSX only came in Apollo White and Saturn Yellow. Apparently, there were only 491 Saturn Yellow ones made for 1970. The following year Buick introduced more colors, boy did they make up some fancy color names for them, Stratomist Blue, Cortez Gold, Arctic White, Platinum Mist, Limemist Green, Bittersweet Mist, Fire Red, and Regal Black.

Worth one more look, or two, or three… oh, forget it, it should be displayed in one important convention for all to see. The engine is a jewel to be admired and so is the car you did build and so are they all. Of course I prefer vintage cars because they all had special features and true personality to them. To own one of them would require a large bundle of money and so, even is not in the millions, one can at least remember them in scale.
And when modelers like you know what they are doing and manage to reproduce them in style it is a real contribution and gift to all the rest of us.
I envy your skills, which in this sector, it seems, are unsurpassed.
Great job on all of them!

Looks very clean, awesome job :ok_hand:t2:

Nicely done! I like the two tone interior styling.

Thank you all for looking and the kind comments. I am still learning and trying new things with each build or using different products for better results. Always trying to improve.

Great build and great subject. I feel lile the GSX flies under the radar far too often. Glad to see it represented so well here

Thanks Malemodeler, truth be told I was not to familiar with the GSX. It is a nice car, you don’t expect this from buick. At least i didn’t.

Short thread but full of info! I like the overall look, especially the wiring and the Monroe shocks!
I too agree, the muscle cars of yesteryear are a lot more sexier than todays so called muscle cars..
Thank you for sharing!
Happy Modeling,
Mike

Happy to share Butz! Try to give as much info as i can, hopefully someone can learn from my success and failures as well.
