Revell 1/72 VII-C U-Boats

Just wondering if anyone on the west side of the Big Pond has received a kit from any Canadian supplier yet???

Thanks

I haven’t seen anything yet. Most online sites are taking pre-orders, but I don’t think we’ll see this one in stores just yet.
I’m curious about the overall dimensions of the kit, not just the damn lenght

What other dimensions do you want to know? I’ve had the kit for months – got it from White Ensign. It’s nice.

For other dimensions, I’d suggest going to any U-Boat site, getting the dimensions of a Type VIIC, and dividing them by 72. [:)] I’d guess it’s about 36" long, around 10" high, and around 4" wide.

Funny…I wuz just about to post this!..I wrote:

Subject: Revell Kit question

Hello!

A little birdy told me that the Revell of Germany 1/72 scale U-BOOT is on your shelves?.. Is that true?..or do I need to stop talking to small animals?

Thanks!

Keep talking to small animals. They have arrived finally.

COOL!!!

[:-,]OK, all you “conspiracy theorists” in the US. Are you beginning to believe–like me–that the Revell 1/72-scale VII-C is really just a “hoax”? [}:)]

Is it possible the photos of the model have just been of a single prototype[?][:O] (After all, just look at that ridiculous green color on some of the superstructure parts on the Revell A/G website.) Gosh! The pictures of the boxes could just be empty ones with some fancy covers or post-production photo-editing.

[X-)] Doesn’t it seem a little “strange” that none have been seen in the US? Are they like UFO’s[alien][?] Is this just a “vast plot” to play an “insensitive practical joke” on all us Yanks[:(][?] Is this payback for WWI & II?[]

[:-^]Well… I’ll believe these exist when I finally get the one I ordered.[:P] 'Til then I’m skeptical![sigh]

Got mine yesterday,Local shop. Kit looks great but I’m in for hours of work opening up all those free water holes…&…Scratchbuilding a faux pressure hull that would be visable after cleanup… But It looks so good I’ll have to give it a go…

I called Sqaudron Friday. I was told they were expecting Das Booties on Monday.
We’ll see.

According to local shop owner near Dayton, Oh, MMD does have the u-boats in the warehouse but they were doing inventory last week. They didn’t want to count them so they didn’t open the boxes! Also called a shop in Cincinnati and they got them in this past Monday and sold out that day!!!

AAHHHHHH!!!

Still no U-BOOTS sighted on the west coast yet!

I’m use to that though[xx(]

Maybe this week?

The CC has finally been charged by Squadron for $44, and Das Boot is making its way to central Cali. Yaah, daz is vantastik LOL

I just picked mine up from my local hobby shop here in NJ…$49.

I’m already working on a Turm IV add-on part in resin, so once it’s done, I’ll be making the part available for a nominal fee…you’ll have to do your own rails and provide your own 37mm gun for the deck.

Jeff can you have one ready for the 9th of April?
Nick and Kathy[:)]

Uhh, no… but I will cast one up for you…that’s what they make the postal service for!! [;)]

Jeff

Bring some english beer as a bribe and Wedgwood and Tony Blair(That’s just blown it!)

Bring the HMS Belfast over with ya and we’ll talk…

I just checked the status of my pre-order from Hobbylinc. It says order is being pulled and ready for shipment.

Jeff-
Put me down for one…now all I need is the d*** model.[banghead][banghead]

I’ve given it some serious thought, and here’s what I’ve come up with…

I’ll cast the part, but you have to supply the rails and 37mm gun (or quad 20mm). I’ll cast the stowage containers integral with the decking, but I’m still working on the planking itself. It won’t cast that well…I know that for a fact, so I may simply leave indentations in the decking for the stips to sit, and you provide the plastic. Basically, you’ll get 2 chunks of resin that you’ll have to blend into the existing tower. One for the extended upper level, and one for the lower level. I figure it’ll go for about $12-$15, sans shipping.

Jeff

ok Airfix HMS Belfast or did you mean the real one cause if you did you pay the postage!

The real one of course…I have a couple of the Airfix kits already!!!
