Revell 1-72 S-Boote with Griffon P/E Set.

I have been off the Net for a while but am back with this being my next Build. Will have some more Pics shortly…Cheers Mark

I’ve been going to do this one for awhile I’m just waiting to find the big griffon set that has the resin bridge and all the pe. I will be glued to this one for sure

Thanks Clint. OK here we go. The open Bridge Bulkheads before and after the P/E has been added. The forward Bulkhead has been replaced with 11 P/E and 3 Film Sections. More to come soon…Cheers Mark

That’s a nice kit w/o the PE. Should be stunning with it!! I’ll be watching this one.

Will be watching this one. I got the same kit at the end of last year as a gift and have just ordered the same PE set, should be here in a couple of days. So will be watching for ideas.

Thanks Gents. The Hull is now together. Upon research, The Water outlets were in the wrong position. I removed them and redrilled them in the right positions. The Exhaust Outlets and Water Intakes were moulded solid. I drilled them out and backed them to negate the see through effect. Will have some more shortly…Cheers Mark

The main Deck is now added. The after Deck Details are not correct so it has been removed for it’s P/E replacement. More to come soon…Cheers mark

Ok the P/E replacement Parts have been constructed and are being Test Fitted here. More to come soon,Cheers mark

Looking good so far. How good is the PE I’ve never used any of Griffons sets before?

Nice work so far. I will make a note of those water outlets.

I got the PE set yesterday, boy there’s a lot there. I’ve not used one of their sets before either, but it looks pretty nice, just a bit crowded on the frets.

I thought about opening the exhaust ports on the kit I had. I had no idea they were in the wrong place, but ended up leaving them alone, assembling my kit mostly OOB. It’s just as well, though, because the boat crashed to the ground after getting caught on a cleaning rag when the wife was in a pre-holiday cleaning frenzy. Most of the parts are in a pan waiting for repair, but I have other projects in the queue right now, so the wreckage gathers dust on a table.

Looking awesome! I’m glad you’re choosing to modify details about the model. In a way, it makes it your own. Can’t wait to see the finished product!

Thanks for the comments Gents much appreciated. The P/E is not for the Feint-Hearted, There is a lot of Surgery to do to the kit. Patience and some good Magnifiers really come in handy. OK on to the next stich is the Skullcap. You need to remove a fair amount of Plastic for their P/E replacement. What they do supply is superb. Here are the before and after shots of the Skullcap. More to come soon…Cheers mark

What is it you opened up there?

It is the Armoured Wheelhouse of the S-Boote…Cheers mark

It’s lookin’ good.

Nice work, I know what you mean about it not being for the faint hearted.

Thanks Gents and to prove my comments and your comments correct here is the next Instalment. Here are the before and after Pics of the After Area of the Torpedo Tubes. More to come soon…Cheers mark

Is this a bigger or lesser PITA compared to 1/350 PE?

holy PE this really does add alot of detail
