Revell 1/72 EC 145

The Revell 1/72 EC 145 just arrived at my LHS today. Has anyone built it yet? Is it worth the 22.00?

Thanks!

Wait a minute! $22.00 for 1/72! No way! You can get the big 1/32 scale for about that and a little more depending on the store.

Tower Hobbies has the 1/32 EC-145 for $22.89
Central Michigan. Hobbies has 1/32 Rega for $23.79
Internet Hobbies has 1/32 ADAC for $25.30
Discount Models $24.40

Need I say more?

I haven’t built it but it’s Revell. So you know it’s good.
I’ve heard good about the 1/72 and even better about the 1/32.

Cheers

That’s why I asked. I know that Revell Germany really fluctuates on their prices (guess that styrene falls under the petroleum industry), but it would have to be a helluva kit with the 1/32 at a comparable price.

Thanks!

My pleasure.

Actually, all plastics are mostly derived from pretrolium. Celulose is second.

I wouldn’t be a bit suprised if it was just a typical hobby shop gauge. A sign of a struggling business. We are on hard times.

I have a lot of flight medic friends flying with various air medical services. Keep up the good work!

Hello Flight Medic, Air Medical,

An awful lot of money for the kit! Here in Europe (at least in the Netherlands), Revell is one of the least expensive manufacturers. The 1:72 EC145 sells for 7,50 euros in all shops. Sorry to hear you paid so much, it’s still a fine kit though. Imho it went together a lot better than the 1:72 EC135.

Revell will release a 1:72 ADAC-EC145 in april and I hope that one will have all the extras the 1:32 145 has: cable cutters, extended landing gear, flotation equipment, search light.

Regards, Gertjan

Gertjan,

Thanks for the info on the upcoming ADAC 145 in 1/72. It will be great if the kit is nicely detailed. With all of the extras in the 1/32 kit I am spoiled.

I made molds of the equipment sets, stretchers and litter pans in the 1/32 ADAC set since they were so nicely made and the fact that they were the only thing available in the 1/32 - 1/35 range. I also molded the 1/72 stretcher. You can never have enough details in a medical interior!

FLTMEDIC,

And to make matters ‘worse’:

Heller decided to release an EC145 in 1:72[:(!]… OK I welcome any new helicopter kit release, but why in heaven’s name choose for a kit and scale that is already there???[:(!][:(!][:(!]

Best Regards, Gertjan

Heller has never relly been on the cutting edge of new releases…[}:)]

Considering they had a nice line of 1/48 scale helo’s. Lama, Gazelle, 360C Dauphin, Alouette, Puma, Jet Ranger, Astar. Why not an EC-145 in 1/48th? Oh-Oooooooh!
I’m too old and big for 1/72. Sasa-frakin, fricken, pacadurman, farfin, nimon-nomin!..

I need 1/72 because I am running out of room. 1/32 take up alot of space, but they sure look good!

My problem w/ 1/72 is my old, tired eyes don’t cooperate with the small stuff like they used too…I think it started to go downhill when I turned 40. [;)]

Nah, you’re not running out of room. You just need an addition.

Yeah,

The wife is gonna love that one. [;)] We have 4 bedrooms and one is all mine for my models and work bench. Beats the heck out of the old days of a card table in the closet or out in the garage, and she really does not fuss when I come home with $100 worth of plastic, so…I don’t think I’ll push my luck.
