I am new to modeling and on the advice of a helpful member I am starting a thread about my first build. Not much to report so far but here is a picture of my workbench.

Can someone tell me how to post an image? I uploaded a photo to photobucket and copied the link in but it didnt show up.

First, start an account at a photo-hosting site; I use Photobucket. Then, upload your pics that you’ve saved to your computer. After they are uploaded, you’ll see the thumbnail pics.

Move your cursor over the pic and you’ll see a little gear symbol in the upper-right corner. A drop down menu appears and you choose “get links”. Another window will open with several choices for you. You want to click on the one that says “IMG codes”. Once you do, it will show “copied”. Now, go to the post that you’ve started here and simply “paste” the code.

Welcome to the forum. So far the only thing that I would have to add is the fact that your workbench is way to clean and organized! Other than that it looks like you are off to a great start.

I hope you will enjoy the hobby as much as we old timers do, a great way to spend your off hours. Don’t get discouraged by little things that don’t turn out quite as you had wanted, remember that each new build will be better than the last. I’ve been at this for about 65 years, still learning and most of that comes from this forum, GREAT bunch of folks. Have fun.

Thanks everyone! Here’s my first question. I work in my garage which is not the warmest place in the house. The temp is usually in the 50’s in there during the winter months. Is this going to be a problem as far as painting goes?

I finally got a start on my B24. Here is my cockpit. Since this is my first model I am keeping it very simple. I may try to add a few extra details but am pretty much sticking to the instructions. I may try to add some detail to the cockpit. Anyone have an suggestions for some simple details a newbie can add.

Nice work on the RM B-24D. I just wanted to let you know that the RM D model has a flaw in it. The nose gear doors are supposed to open up and inwards, not down and outward. That was done on H and J models.

Hi Jeremy,

I don’t find the 50-degree temperature to cause any problems with painting. I have used Tamiya spray cans, Tamiya acrylics through my airbrush and a few other paints, and they all go down fine and dry just fine as well. They take longer to dry on a humid cold day than a dry hot day, but nothing to be worried about.

As for the photo posting, it looks like you got the photo posted, but to answer the question, no, there is no delay. When you click the image button and add the source code from your photo, it should show immediately in the desired spot even before you hit the post button.

Thanks BD… I posted two photos of the cockpit area, since I started painting. I can’t see them yet.
