Revell 1/144 A380 - British Airways

Hi there. Here’s a freshly completed A380 built from the Revell 1/144 Kit, with the superb 26Decals British Airways livery set. I started the kit with the intention of hanging this from the ceiling, clean and wheels up but soon decided to stick it on a home made diorama base to add some life and service to this aviation monster. I hope you enjoy it - it was a pretty basic kit, but of good quality and was fun to build something new. Thank you for looking in. John

Thank you for looking in - bye for now … John

Beautiful! Particularly like the base and pedestal. Was the base graphics from Google Earth?

Hi Don - I recognise your picture. Thanks for the words, I simply picked a picture from Google of the Berkshire countryside above the M4 in the UK, enlarged it from A4 to A3 and placed it over a base slightly smaller than A3 so the edges wrapped around the base - I used 2 prints, cutting it into section to avoid ripples and creases. Prior to adding the print, I used plaster of paris to mould some hillside contours and the motorway valley. It only took about 3 hours to produce and I think I will use this method again - plus a little fish tank filter wool for the fluffy puffy bits !!

Excellent! I’ve been thinking about getting one of these.

Very impressive base, not a 'run of the mill" . Unique and very clever.

Very nice build, especially the base. I had the same kit, but it has been lost in the moves recently.

Nice!

Outstanding Job!! Love it! [H] [Y]
