I recently picked up an old revel kit at a flea market. Here is the problem…the portside fuselage is twisted .I’ve tried hot water and a hairdryer try and remove the twist…no luck.can any body give me a suggestion or 2 as to what to do with this snag…my last oppition is to write the company and ask for a replacement part. But that is something i don’t really want to do thanks
[#welcome]Welcome to the forum, sivastena! I’ve used this method in the past and it always works. First, glue the cockpit to the right fuselage half. Then glue the seam that fits together the best, using pieces of masking tape along the joint to hold it together. Let it sit overnight. The next day glue the other seam together, starting from the end that fits the best. Work your way along the joint using tape again to hold it together as you go. You may have to force the two together but be gentle. Be sure to use a good liquid cement such as Tenax or ProWeld.
I used this method on a B-52 fuselage that was twisted 3/4 inch along the seam. It sounds like a lot of work and it is but it’s not hard. Good luck![:)]
And there’s always the old tack it with superglue and spritz it with accelerator trick. Then you can give it a nice dose of liquid cement and clamp or rubber-band it. It takes nerve or guts or something to hold a hot hair dryer to a model that you can’t replace.
thanks guys did some digin and decided to use both ways tack the seams alittle at a time…going to post pics as project progresses.
