Great job on a long Campaign Andy, you really kept it going and got a lot of great builds.thanks again.

Anthony

Thanks guys! I neglected to mention that we managed to build all Panzer variants except for couple of odd variants. 33 guys signed up and we came up with 22 builds. I think its great result! There are several builds that are very close to their completion out there and I will update the rooster of course when they are done.

For those who are curious how many variants Pz III has… much more than I knew.

Beautiful builds. That would have been a fun GB to be in as I love the Pz III. Kudos to Andy and all that finished there builds.

I have to agree with everyone, some suberb builds and the finishing and weathering is first class.

Andy, you did a great job holding it alltogether[t$t][t$t]…cheers…Kenny

That is a great group build, especially how you almost got every variant of the Panzer III. Great builds all round.

Really gutted i couldn’t join in with this GB. Some really stunning builds there.

Well done guys.

This was a FANTASTIC GB and it was given by a FANTASTIC host!! Lots of fun, lots of good people and builds and produced an excellent turn-out! Great job to all that participated [B]

Nice to see that kind of turnout on the GB! Some great work on display there, thanks for posting it up Andy! [B]

Amazing work guys, well done all. Terry.

Is it over? Did I miss it?

Ripcord- Yeah, sorry about that. It started in June 2011 and it went on for 15 months with few months extension to allow participants more time to finish including myself. LOL I am sure somebody will host another Panzer GB… maybe IV? [;)]

Guys- Thanks for nice words! I wouldn’t have done without you guys… you have been awesome and fun!!! [B] One thing I like about here at FSM is Group Builds. I am in Steel Cats GB now and I was wondering what will next… [:D] LOL

Gamera’s doing a Japanese group build in the start of the year and I believe Scorpiomike is doing a first kit ever GB.

Nice thread Andy [Y]

My Tamiya Pz. III N was my ‘main’ entry and I spent a lot of time on that - I learnt a lot during that built too. I can’t believe it was over a year ago we started that GB now [:O]

Here’s a view from the front!

The StuG and SiG of mine were both Cyber-Hobby builds and not my best work as I had limited time to expend on them. I have all three builds in my cabinet but I’m planning to go back to the SiG and give that a w/wash. The only think that let that down was my lack of attention paid to sorting the barrel seams which annoys me now but hey-ho. I’ll probably build one of the newer one’s that Dragon released since I built mine. I should definately have replaced that barrel for the sake of a few pounds.

I do love a good GB. I’m building a Tiger I Ausf E for Tigermans Steel Cats’ GB now and I’ve spent more time on that Tiger than I spent on the StuG and SiG for this GB combined and it shows so it’s all a good learning curve!

I honestly can’t decide which build is my personal favourite. Andys Trench base Panzer III is great, as is his StuG and Dupes StuG too with the whitewash - they all look really good and I couldn’t decide between them.

What GB to sign up to next?

Thanks for the great GB Andy - it was well run and you were a cracking host!

Ben [t$t]

This was a heck of a lot of fun. Great group of guys and everyone was friendly and supportive, just as a GB should be. Special thanks to Andy for keeping it up for a whopping 15 months! [t$t] [snWow]

Anybody thinking Pzr. IV next summer? I just picked up a Tristar Ausf. D…

ripcord- Thanks man! Will keep eyes on it. First I need to build a helicopter as soon as I am done with my Tiger build. I really need a break from armors… LOL

Ben- What can I say about you and your builds. You continue to transform yourself into a serious modeler. I noticed you are taking your time with Tiger now and I see the big difference. I will always remember your Pz III especially the racks and stowage… that was good one too!

Really appreciate you stepping up to build THIRD to fill in last vacant spot… StuG III C/D and it was a beauty too.

Next GB? Who knows… will follow the flow. For sure I will take a short break from armors and build a helicopter. It was fun if you remember I built a Huey earlier this year. I am always up for maybe Pz IV GB next year or something like that…

Mike- Thanks! You were fun to have aboard too! Appreciate your nice words. Pz IV GB sounds like fun… have plenty of Pz IV kits in stash. Stay in touch buddy!

Wasn’t it Dupes whom hosted the 1000 wheels GB, which of course I finished late.

Cheers Andy - generous words my friend [t$t]

When I eventually get round to building a ‘flying thingy’ it will be a Stuka. I recall seeing a Stuka painted in ‘Nightfighter’ colours and I loved it. I know the Stuka is often referred to as being ‘flying Artillery’ so it will fit in nicely amogst my armour.

What is a sensible scale for a Stuka sized build - what would the wingspan be in both 1/32 and 1/48?

Again, great GB Andy - how about another ‘Turretless AFV GB’? That’s the perfect excuse I need to start my Birthday Elefant! I’d look into starting one but worry I’d not have the time to expend during the week to oversee the GB plus at the weekends, with most of you being several thousand miles away, I couldn’t do a lot to oversee things as you lot are in bed and I’m up and about!

Take care fellas,

Ben [t$t]
