resin vs p/e

poll question

we all have to be rivet counters for this question (aahhhh) you can go back to yourselves after answering[;)]

if you could only add one thing to your model

resin parts or p/e parts

what do you choose and why

i’ll start i vote resin because …

resin parts (in general ) tend to be more for correcting faults in a model

and p/e tends to be more for just making fine detail look better

For me, if I’m limited to one, the choice is PE.

First, the cost to benefit ratio is higher (IMHO) with PE than with resin and is generally the cheaper of the two options. Second, PE can frequently correct more problems with a kit than a resin set can fix - most notably, over-scale components, but also missing details. Finally, with PE you generally know you’re going to have a “known quality” of parts (usually high) while resin sets can vary from the “very good” to the “terrible”.

Now for the reality…

I frequently use both PE and resin on builds. They both have valid purposes and applications. I personally wouldn’t want to be limited to just one choice.

For me building a/c, I have to go with PE.

To put it simple, I can’t paint an instrument panel for the life of me. I need serious help and a good pe set gives me one. A bonus is the pre-painted ones. Only used one thus far and luved the result.
