Resin preperation

Hello everyone. I am attempting my first kit with resin details, it’s the Classic Airframes Curtiss Hawk II (Udet), and I really want to do this right. Any tips on the general preperation of resin parts, and painting in particular would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. A good wash in warm soapy water is the very first thing you should do. You want to get the mold release agent off the parts. I suggest a good primer like Model Master primer gray cut 25% with lacquer thinner. Keep in mind that resin dust is not high on the list of things you want to breath so either wet sand or dry sand with a dust mask.
