Resin Prep

Those of you who have used resin detail kits in your a/c, do you prime them with anything prior to the actual painting? I’ve got 2 1/48 scale Navy pilot figures I’m adding to my Tomcat and I don’t want the figures to look like sh!t. Thanks in advance for your help.

Priming isn’t absolutely needed, but cleaning to remove any mold release agent is. After a good washing, I do prime larger resin pieces. For figures, a light primer coat of white makes a good base for final painting.

I soak the parts in Westley’s Bleeche White tire cleaner. Then I rinse them off let them air dry then prime them.

Some good advice.
