reproducing your own resin Radials

Anybody know if there are any good comprehensive step by step articles on making your own silicon molds and then casting your own resin parts can be found? I want to reproduce a bunch of good examples of the basic radial engine shapes for super detailing the engines on a couple of monograms big ol bombers (which as we all know did not feature complete or good examples of radials.) for that matter does anybody make like a cool kit for doing this - I’ve always heard you’ve gotta beg your dentist to order some for you…

Hi.

There are quieet a few out there, will look for them again as I haven’t bookmarked them.

Granted most of them deal with Figure Kits, most of them will also list a number of suppliers. I assume you are talking 2-part molds.

Just found a page that might suit you:

Doing basic molds and casting is not too difficult, doing it well takes a LOT of practice. You will end up with a quiet a few problem areas initally:
1.) Air-bubbles
2.) Flash
3.) Incorrect mixed Silicon Rubber or Resin.
4.) Shrinkage.
