Ok…I’m jealous. [:D] Nice pictures, thanks for sharing. I need to make it down to the Reno races one of these years.

Cool photos, Thanks.

I bet y’ll had a GREAT time here too…

Scott. Thanks for sharing these [:P] Looks like there were some great planes there this year! That B-25 is great. Man, one don’t see too many Yaks anymore either[8D]

Very nice set of photos. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys.

September Fury took Gold in the Unlimited class with an average speed of just over 481mph
Dreadnought took Silver with an average speed of just over 453mph.

The Seafury’s just dominated this year. It’s always cool watching the old warbirds fly. Nothing like watching Seafurys, Mustangs, Yaks and even an F7F Tigercat all racing against each other. For those of you that are interested in these old warbirds, you really should come out to the air races. Get pit passes as well and you get to go in the area where all the planes are parked, being worked on etc. You get to meet the pilots and ground crews and really be in the middle of things so to speak. I was especially stoked to see the F4F Wildcat actually fly! Not something you see everyday. [8D]

Here are some of the race results.

Scott is quite correct. It’s an awesome sight seein’ them ol’ Warbirds in the skies. I use to live not far from where the Reno Air races are held & I truly enjoyed watchin’ the races & hearin’ them radials Roaring overhead[^][:P]

i so badly want to see an air race one day,but i’ll have a long drive first,Lone don’t fly

I havent been to any but i know the last one they had out a couple years ago a corsair crashed.

Hey Scott,

Very nice indeed. Thank you fer sharing w/ us. BTW, was Brent Hisey’s Miss America there by chance??

Out of all the warbirds that got transformed into Pylon Racers, Hisey’s Stang is my Fav…

Flaps up, Mike

Miss America was always a favorite of me and my daughter. Now that you mention it, I don’t recall having seen it there for at least 3 or 4 years, maybe longer.

Hey Scott,

Thats a shame but if I recall didn’t Miss America get into a little mishap a while back which took her out of the racing schene?

Heres a a pix of her new scheme. Pretty cool but for some reason the tail has lost something…

What speeds are they pushing them birds at now ? Close to 5 hundred or over isnt it ? I used to subscribe to "Warbirds " magazine and they always covered the Reno races . I dont know if that magazine is still around .Nice pictures and thanks .

I know in the unlimiteds (the warbirds) the winner of the gold race was just over 481mph average.
