Removing old, tough, nasty paint

I have an old model with some God awful thick, nasty, red rust colored paint in a few spots. I have tried to remove it using paint and airbrush thinner. I won’t budge the old paint.
Any suggestions on removing this old paint? I can’t tell you what type of paint was used, only that it is some type of paint that I don’t recognize, and it is nasty tough!
Thanks, Terry

Try soaking it in Easy Off Oven cleaner (in a large sealable plastic bag or container)
Soak it overnight and use a toothbrush to scrub the paint off under the faucet.
Use gloves and breathing equipment.

Even better than Castrol is lighter fluid on a q-tip. Just scrub away until it is clean, you will probably have to use a couple of q-tips depending on the amount of pain you want removed.
