Removing glue and paint question

Hey all,

Since you guys were so great at resolving my clear green tint question, I had another one for you. How would you recommend removing model master glue/CA adhesive not super glue from a painted area. I’m not worried about removing the paint just not leaving an uneven finish when i’m done. I know I’ll probably have to touch up with paint. I have an area on the cockpit floor where some glue spread onto. It’s also in a tight spot but I guess I can remove the consol if I have to…but the floor will need to stay glued in place.

thanks in advance

Doug

I would go at it with a flat chisel point X-Acto type tool, scraping and prying the cement bits, finishing up, if needed with an emery stick or a jewler’s file.

The MM glue actually welds the plastic, so you will have to cut/chisel it out.

so that rules out using a solvent to remove it…I’d have to be able to some how sand it smooth.

Thanks,

Hey Doug… How’s it going?

If the MM glue is more like Tenax than a CA… I have had excellent results with a green Sctoch Brite scouring pad. There was a huge run of Tenax on the fuselage of my Fw 190D-9 and you would never from looking at it.

Thanks Marc,

Nice job on that baby by the way…I was just checking it out.
