Hey guys, I need some help. I have a 1/72 Tornando that I’m getting ready to build and I ordered an upgrade kit for it from Verlinden. The upgrade kit has some PE panels for the equipment bay in the forward fuselage. Does anyone have a recommendation on the best tool to use to remove panels on the fuselage? I don’t think my xacto or scalple would work well and would most likely ruin it. I was thinking a panel scribe but not sure. Any help would be great.
Remove and throw away, right?
Surefire way is to drill a lot of small holes close together around the inside edge of the cut, leaving a little plastic. Cut from one to the other with the tip of an Xacto, or the Fermis method- get a piece of coarse thread and use it as a saw.
File to final size with a little flat needle file.

Thank you for the info. I will grab some scrap and try it out before I try it on my Tornado.
It also helps if you can thin the plastic with a motor tool in order to get a scale thickness to the opening.
Will you be replacing the panel with anything, like for a hinged panel, or just be doing a removable panel that is assumed to be far enough away from the aircraft to be non-visible?
