Removal of paint from OLD models

Hi everyone

I have a couple of completed models which i did at least 10 years ago.

Now i want to re-paint them. They were all hand painted using Humbrol Enamels. Now that i am airbrushing i want to airbrush them.

Any suggestions on what i can use to remove the paint. Need to know names of stuff that is available in Australia

Welcome to the forum! I don’t know what is available there, but I have used Polyscale Easy-lift-off with excellent results. Also have used a product called Simple Green on clear parts as the ez lift off fogged them. A bit slower working though.

Simple Green. It is made in Australia too, so you shouldn’t have much trouble finding it (http://australia.simplegreen.com/au_products.php).

Fill a bucket, soak your model overnight, use a soft toothbrush to remove softened paint, repeat as necessary. Key is long soak times (fully submerge your model). It doesn’t work if you just spray it over the model, as it isn’t very aggressive (and as such isn’t harmful to the plastic).
