Remember, One day a week or so ago I remarked about using W.D.40 and a Model car windshield for a mold and poured resin over this windshield and after that popping this optically clear, windshield off of it after I had used W.D.40 as a release agent?Tried something similar today! This time with some Machinery parts(Winches and deck gear parts.
Well, safe to say it worked agin! Am I lucky or what? The Resin? The Two Part stuff that comes in kind an applicator syringe from JB Company! Can’t get more generic than that. Oh, the idea of using clear resin was just because I believe in Waste Not-Want Not!! I already had the resin from another job, Why not finish the container up before it goes bad in my Hundred and four degree garage here in Texas!? So now I have a collection of winch parts and baseplates and control boxes made of clear resin. Easy Peasy!!
The Molds? Easy, I used Clay for making pottery and just separated the halves with wax paper where needed, when dry they worked perfect. They had air dried and after about ten pieces they broke, but so what? I got my parts!
