Religous Figures

Anyone know of any company that makes religous figures?[:D]
Thanks

A few years ago my family was in the market for a Nativity set. I ended up buying one (piece by piece) from a company called Department 56 (<www.department56.com>), whose Nativity figures I really like. They’re just about on 54mm scale and have a wonderful, romantic-but-naturalistic character. But they’re on the expensive side, and from my standpoint suffer from one major disadvantage: they’re prepainted. Very nicely pre-painted, mind you - but wouldn’t it be logical for some firm like Imrie-Risley or Andrea to produce a series of unpainted Nativity figures? Seems like a natural idea, but so far as I know no firm has done it. Anybody else know of one?

Depnds on what you are looking for. I think Warriors figures does some Priests and Nuns and a US Army Chaplain, all WWII era. Verlinden carries them. For religious icons such as Christ on the cross or Buddah or Indian Gods, etc., check your local import store such as Pier One or other trinket stores. They have all sorts of small tourist trinkets that once painted, work great.

Andrea has a Joan of Arc as do a couple other companies. (St. Joan is the patron saint oi France.) I’m not aware of other specifically religious oriented figures for the painter’s market.

theres a Pope here http://www.artillery-models.com/

Historex do a Crucifix as part of their 54mm spare parts series. This could be used as the basis of a figure of Christ on the Cross, though it would be smaller than54mm. Repainting figures from religious trinket shops may be the best way to go, however, particularly if you are not worried about constant scale.

Chris.

Preiser makes religous figures in the varios scales.
