Related Scribing Question

Do you guys scribe every single line on a model?

The short answer is no. If you’ve ever built the F-105, you’ll know why! For that plane it seems Republic didn’t use a piece of metal larger than a flattened beer can. You’d be scribing for weeks on this one! Most of the kits I buy already have recessed panel lines so I only need to scribe where the lines have been buried by putty or sanded away. Hope this helps![:)]

not me, said he…[yuck]
but, some do…[:-^]
…imo it all depends on your nerve & expertise…

only if the kit has raised panel lines, as in older kits, or if i have obliterated the recessed lines by sanding or filing [:p]

You guys just saved me a ton of time. Thanks.

Nope, I’m not a rivet counter. Like the others, the only lines I scribe are the ones I trash when sanding.

As to the F-105 I think a flattened beer can is being generous. You can see a lot of them that I highlighted On This Picture

I do, but then again tanks have far less panels than aircraft do!
