Matt I use predominantly Gunze acrylics as the colour range is excellent and they spray beautifully, leaving a stunning finish.
I used the Vallejo acrylics, but good as they are I just get on better with the Gunze product.
Tom Italeri’s CR42 looks like a stunning little kit, it just seems odd that they chose to release a version in Luftwaffe service rather than Regia Aeronautica. Having said that, there is everything in the box to build the RA version except the decals.
[b]Rick[/b[ Specialhobby have released a whole load of obscure Italian subjects in 1/72 of late, including Italy’s answer to the B17. Might be worth a look.
Karl - don’t happen to know the designation of that plane do you? (Actually I think I saw it recently) that would definitely qualify as fringe… [;)] (and no comments from YOU about lace, Mr. RJ-myplasticismoremanlythanyours-mod!)
sorry I’ve been MIA for about a week but I just finished the move to New Jersey so it’s been a little hectic around here. No internet access yet in my new apartment, so I have to go down to Starbucks and “hack” into the wifi access there. I am of course suckered into a four dollar cup of coffee while there.
Alexandre, I will add your name and build to the list in the first post. Also, thank you very much for whipping up a GB badge, I was mulling that over this week and trying to figure out how to make my photoshop stop fritzing out. Yours looks great to me.
Everyone, feel free to add this to your signature before completing the actual build. Perhaps it will drum up other interested customers.
No kit as yet, but I picked up Squadron’s CR42 In Action at the LHS on Friday, so I think that pretty much means I’ll be doing a CR 42 then!
Rick There’s a load of good RA kits out there in 1/72 now, great to see manufacturers picking up subjects other than those of the main combatant nations.
Karl, there sure are. I wish the manufacturers would do a few of them in 1/48. Right now I’m thinking of doing the Special Hobby 1/72 Fiat CR 25 twin engine fighter. My AB needs a good workout & the mottle scheme on that bird would certainly provide a challenge.
sounds like people are getting their gear together. Sounds good. I’m waiting for my hasegawa Veltro to come in the mail. Other more pressing matters include the current lack of a real digital camera for pics…my wife has the other one, and it did’t take very good pics anyway. I’m currently looking to upgrade. I’ll have to mull this over…
Rick Hopefully with Italeri bringing out the CR42 in 1/48 we might see a few more Italian A/C from WWII. After all, they’ve also just brought out an Autoblinda armoured car in 1/35, so there must be a market for some of the more esoteric Italian vehicles and planes.
I wouldn’t mind a nice Fiat G50, always liked the look of that little fighter.
Matthew I was looking at the Hasa Veltro the other week in the LHS, a very tempting proposition.
