Red Fox Studios

Anyone ever order from Red Fox Studios? They make instrument panel detail sets, decals, and other resin products. I ask because I placed an order from them 3+ months ago. They are based in Eastern Europe (I think) so I wasn’t expecting a package for 2 months. After 14 weeks Im wondering if it’s a losing deal. They don’t respond to emails.

I googled it and they are based in Hungary. Haven’t been able to find any negative reviews. Three months seems like a very long time and failure to respond to your messages don’t sit well with me. I remember ordering a resin filleted tail for my 1/32 Mustang from the UK. The site listed at least a month wait but it was shipped within 2 weeks and messages were answered within an hour or two.

Hopefully you paid with a credit card or PayPal so a dispute can be filed for a refund.

Just a tip going on…for unfamiliar vendors, particularly those in distant parts of the world, I will often email a query (often about their shipping) before ordering, just to see what response time (and attitude) is like.

It’s not foolproof…but for those who never answered a pre-order query, no order followed.

All that aside, I hope you get your goods soon.

And do web searches before dealing with any vendor. Especially if the vendor is not one you’ve seen in discussions here and in other forums. How many posts have we had recently from Internet Hobbies’ latest victims? A simple web search before dealing with IH would have returned an abundance of info to deter anyone from placing an order.

It is PayPal. Thanks for all the advice. I think it’s a reputable site but here we are.

File a dispute with Paypal. If the place you paid doesn’t respond through Paypal within a few days (I usually give about 5 business days), you can escalate it to a claim. If the seller still doesn’t respond once it has gone to a claim, then Paypal will refund your money.

[dto:] Paypal is pretty good on that at least with one case I had not long ago.
